First Home Baseball Game of the Season – Don’t Miss It!

The first home baseball game of the season is set for Friday, February 14, at Founders Park—and yes, that’s Valentine’s Day! What better way to celebrate than by showing some Gamecock spirit at the ballpark? The team takes on Sacred Heart, promising an exciting kickoff to the season.

Make sure to grab your tickets in advance so you don’t miss out! Whether you're a student rallying your friends or a fan looking for a fun Friday night, this is the perfect way to spend the evening—cheering on the Gamecocks, enjoying the fresh air (hopefully), and maybe even snagging a hot dog or two. Because let’s be real—the best Valentine’s Day plans come with a side of Gamecock pride!

Columbia’s First-Ever Talent Retention Fair!

Alright, Gamecocks—if you’re graduating soon (or just trying to figure out your next move), Columbia is making it very easy for you to stick around. The city is launching its first-ever Talent Retention Fair to help students and grads connect with local employers, industry partners, and networking resources. Basically, it’s like a career fair but with an extra wink wink from Columbia, hoping you’ll stay put. The event is happening Monday, Feb. 17, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, and registration is already open—so don’t be that person scrambling last minute to sign up.

Parents, this is your chance to casually suggest that Columbia is actually a great place for your student’s future (because let’s be real, you wouldn’t mind a few more excuses to visit). And students, even if you’re still in the “I have no idea what I’m doing” phase, this is a perfect way to start figuring things out. Plus, free networking never hurt anyone. So go, shake some hands, and at least pretend you’ve got your life together—Columbia might just have the perfect opportunity waiting for you!

Free Biscuits & Good Vibes: Tupelo Honey's Grand Opening!

Big news—Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar is opening its first Columbia location! Even better, the grand opening on Thursday, Feb. 13, comes with free entrees for the first 50 guests and free biscuits all day. Yes, free biscuits! If that’s not a reason to show up, what is?

Gamecock community, grab your friends and check it out—it’s the perfect excuse to switch things up from the usual ramen or Chick-fil-A. And if you’re just bored and scrolling TikTok for the 100th time, this is a much tastier way to spend the day. Plus, who wouldn’t want to be among the first to try a new spot? Trust me, you’ll thank yourself later (or at least your wallet will).
