Get Your Green On: St. Pat’s in Five Points is Almost Here!

Listen up—Saturday, March 15 is St. Pat’s in Five Points, aka the event of the season. It’s the Southeast’s biggest one-day St. Patrick’s Day celebration, and if you’ve never been, just know it’s an absolute blast. We’re talking a parade, live music, great food, and Five Points completely packed with people decked out in green, having the time of their lives. I go every year, and trust me—it’s hands-down one of my favorite USC traditions.

If you are planning to go, grab some friends and make a day of it. Start strong with the Get to the Green 5K (if you’re feeling motivated) or just roll in later for the festival. Pro tip: wear comfy shoes—your feet will thank you. And don’t be surprised if you have to dodge a few overly enthusiastic leprechauns along the way—it’s all part of the fun!

Spirit Airlines Lands at CAE—Nonstop Flights Coming This June!

Spirit Airlines just announced they’re coming to Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) starting in June! We’re finally getting nonstop flights to Fort Lauderdale, Newark, and Orlando. 🎉

Now, I won’t lie—Spirit’s boarding process sometimes feels like the Hunger Games, but hey, cheap flights are cheap flights! And while I still can’t get a direct flight from CAE to Boston (seriously, what do I have to do?!), at least we’re making progress. Maybe by the time I hit my ten-year reunion, Columbia will have finally unlocked that achievement.

Flights start at $50 one way, so whether you're heading to the beach, Disney, or just escaping campus for a bit, this could be a game-changer. Might as well book now before prices pull a Spirit move and skyrocket! 😆

Friday Night Lights: Gamecocks Baseball at Founders Park!

Just a heads-up—Friday, March 14, 2025, is gonna be a big night at Founders Park. Our Gamecocks are taking on Oklahoma, and if you’re looking for the perfect Friday night plans, this is it. Founders Park under the lights, cheering with friends, and that unbeatable Gamecock energy? It doesn’t get much better than that!

Let’s be real—the alternative is takeout and a Netflix binge (we’ve all been there). So why not switch it up and soak in the atmosphere instead? Grab your tickets, rally your crew, and make a night of it. A stadium hot dog, a good game, and a little school spirit? Sounds like a win to me!
