Cocky Rooster Lands in Five Points – Your New Go-To for Wings & Tenders!

There’s a new spot in Five Points you have to try—The Cocky Rooster just opened on Devine Street, right next to The Goat. It’s a chicken place (wings, tenders, sandwiches—the good stuff) that originally started in Virginia, and this is their first out-of-state location. Kind of perfect they landed in Columbia, right? I mean... Cocky Rooster in Gamecock country? Feels meant to be.

Fun fact: the owner has a daughter at USC and was inspired to open the restaurant after visiting her—so yes, it's parent-approved. And let’s be honest, it’s always a good idea to know where the best chicken is in town. Especially when dining hall food starts giving “mystery meat” energy. 👀 Go check it out!

Gamecocks Take on Augusta: Three USC Golfers Compete in Prestigious Tournament!

Big news for our Gamecock family—three of our very own golfers are heading to one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world! From Wednesday, April 3, to Saturday, April 6, Hannah Darling, Eila Galitsky, and Louise Rydqvist will be competing in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. If you’re not familiar, this is basically the Super Bowl of women’s amateur golf. After two rounds at Champions Retreat, only the top 30 golfers will advance to Augusta National for the final round—so let’s hope our girls bring their A-game (and maybe a little bit of that Columbia sunshine).

Parents, this is your chance to casually bring up golf at dinner and impress your student with your sports knowledge. And students, if you needed an excuse to procrastinate studying, cheering on our Gamecocks is a perfectly valid one. Let’s show some love and support for Hannah, Eila, and Louise as they take on this huge opportunity—go Cocks!

Gamecocks Skip NIT to Focus on Next Season—Here’s What’s Next!

Gamecock men’s basketball has declined their NIT Tournament invite, choosing to focus on next season instead. Rather than squeezing in more games, the team is prioritizing rest, training, and coming back even stronger—because let’s be real, we’d all prefer fewer heart-stopping finishes and more solid W’s next year.

For behind-the-scenes updates beyond the scoreboard, check out Locked On’s daily Gamecock-focused podcasts for insider takes and team news. Until then, let’s hope this extra prep time means a season full of big wins ahead! 🏀🐔
