Final examinations are here: April 30th-May 7th. Good luck!
Final exams are here, and it’s officially crunch time! 📚 From April 30 to May 7, students will be deep in study mode, pulling long nights at Thomas Cooper Library (or at least pretending to while scrolling TikTok). This is the time to stay organized, manage stress, and push through to the finish line. Whether it’s reviewing notes, forming study groups, or relying on caffeine-fueled motivation, every Gamecock is gearing up for that last academic hurdle before summer.
For students, remember to pace yourself, take breaks, and actually sleep—trust me, your brain will thank you. And for parents, this is a great time to check in with a quick “You got this!” text or, if you want to win your favorite parent status, send a surprise coffee or snack delivery. Good luck, Gamecocks—one more push, and you’re done!

Big Changes (and Big Wins) Coming to Columbia Airport ✈️
Just a heads-up—Columbia Metropolitan Airport is starting a 60-day revamp of its baggage claim area to help cut down on the traffic chaos we all know too well. Lot A is temporarily closed, and there's a new traffic pattern in place, so definitely give yourself a little extra time if you're heading to or from the airport. They're doing it to prep for the busy summer travel season, which honestly feels smart—no one wants a Home Alone airport moment.
The best part? Spirit Airlines is coming to CAE soon, which means more affordable travel options (hello, budget trips back home or quick getaways). The airport is definitely stepping up its game—maybe next they'll add a Chick-fil-A and call it a day. 😉

USC Students Push for Mental Health Days to Count as Excused Absences
Just wanted to share something important happening on campus — Student Government is working hard to make mental health a valid reason for excused absences. They’ve launched a pilot program this spring to test it out, and while it’s not officially required for professors to honor just yet, it’s a big step forward. Honestly, it’s about time we treat mental health like the real, because sometimes, you need a break before you break down — and no, iced coffee doesn’t always cut it.
The goal is to get this into the official attendance policy by the 2026-2027 academic year, so it’s here for good. Students are even encouraged to reach out to professors and faculty senate reps to show support — the more voices behind it, the better. It’s not just about taking a day off, it’s about protecting student well-being and setting a standard for future Gamecocks.
